Temporary Traffic Changes at Buffalo Niagara International Airport for Roadway Construction
BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority is notifying passengers and visitors of upcoming roadway improvement work on Luiz F. Kahl Way and airport access roads that will require temporary traffic modifications over several days in June.
As part of the project, paving work will be completed on the departure level roadway on June 11 and June 12. To minimize disruption, the majority of work will be done from 6:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. each night. During these hours, travelers should expect temporary lane closures and periodic roadway closures on the departure level. All passenger drop-offs and terminal access will be redirected to the arrivals level. Message boards and signage will be in place to guide motorists.
In addition, the east airport entrance from Genesee Street will be closed on Monday, June 15, to allow crews to complete top-course paving work. Motorists should follow posted detour signs and use alternate airport entrances during the closure.
The NFTA appreciates the patience and cooperation of visitors as these improvements are completed. Travelers are encouraged to allow extra time when arriving at the airport and to follow all posted signage and traffic control measures.
