Buffalo Niagara International Airport Operator Wins Snowplow Rodeo

BUFFALO, N.Y. The International Aviation Snow Symposium wrapped up Wednesday with the Snowplow Rodeo and the Buffalo International Airport has once again taken home the trophy ! Chris McBride took home the championship belt with a time of three minutes and 51 seconds making him a three time champion!
The second place winner was Jacob Heyboer from Grand Rapids, Michigan, whose time was four minutes and 28 seconds! The rodeo puts drivers to the test in a series of challenging obstacle courses designed to show off the critical skills needed to maneuver safely across snow and ice. While weaving through tight cones with only inches to spare, drivers compete for the championship belt and demonstrate the expertise that keeps our communities moving through harsh weather.
The rodeo is the last event of the Snow Symposium, a week long conference with aviation workers from all over the globe attending classes, lectures and participating in hands on activities focused on the numerous aspects of winter operations at airports. It has been held in Buffalo for over 50 years.
